Abstract

This research examines contextual indication in the affixed verb (Fil al Mazid) in kitab al tafsir of Sahih al Bukhari. It covers sixty seven verbs from thirty three oral Hadis as a sample to discover the role defining contextual circumstances. Since a single verb can express more than one meaning, the direct concern of this is the overlapping of meaning which would be realized on the part of the language user ( or learner) to look beyond the common given meaning. This research depends on analytical and descriptive methods. Finally, the study shows that the meaning before sentence composition relatively returns to a context and requirement, namely the meaning of the verb in the sentence goes back to the complete text until the situation and circumstances of the text mentioned is known. Otherwise it returns to what comes before or after what is suitable of the sentences. Because these meaning overlap, and some meaning mentioned by morphologists for certain verb forms might entail the need to examine the contexts within the present time as well as its classical form, none of those meaning are limited, nor do they return to usage meaning steadiness' and prevailing usage only; according to morphologists' statement that verb compounds probably comes to another unmentioned meanings.
