Abstract
This study examines the sources and level of knowledge on TQM of secondary school principals. It also identifies the principals' perception of the barriers to TQM implementation at school level and recommends some solutions. Furthermore, the work examines the perceived expectation from TQM, the correlation between expectation from TQM and level of knowledge, as well as the correlation between expectation from TQM and length of service as principal. Questionnaires were distributed to all secondary school principals in Wilayah Persekutuan, Kuala Lumpur. The respondents showed their level of knowledge on the basic concepts of TQM by answering true .or false on twenty statements. Then, a five point Likert scale was used for measuring both the perceptions of barriers to TQM and their expectations from it.
