Preventive health in the light of Kutub al-Sittah

Abstract

Islam pays much attention to the health; it suggests and recommends us to take good care of our health, and to prevent our bodies from illnesses. There are many Qur’anic verses and many ahadith talking about health. Preventive health is a very important action to keep in good health. This study will collect and do tahkrij of the ahadith related to preventive health, such as ahadith about purification, ahadith about sunan al-fitrah, and ahadith about psychological protection. It will also attempt to study and analyze the views and expositions given by the scholars about the ahadith, and compare the ahadith with medical science, in other word; analyze how far the ahadith have been proved by scientific findings.
