Abstract

The research aimed to show the reality of violence against wives in Omani society through reviewing Omani wives experiences who were subjected to violence by their husbands. The researcher chose five Omani married women, their ages ranged between 32 and 44 years, who were newly married, and who had been married for many years, in order to learn about their experiences and sufferings on the issue of violence directed against them by their husbands, from the Governorate of South Al Batinah, Sultanate of Oman. In his study, the researcher relied on the method concerned with the study of phenomena, which is called the phenomenological method, he also used the interview as a method of data collection, and the results were analyzed using qualitative data analysis. All participating women also agreed on the need to inform the concerned authorities if they were exposed to violence.
