Abstract

This research seeks to reveal the spiritual intelligence and its relationship with teaching motivation among teachers in Ad Dakhiliyah Governorate in Oman, based on the variations of (academic qualification, years of service, specialization and academic stage). In addition, to explore the effect of the spiritual intelligence in predicting the motivation of teaching for teachers. The research adopted the descriptive approach. For processing the data, the researcher applied the descriptive statistics methods, t-test, one-way analysis of variance (ANOVA), Pearson correlation coefficient, and multiple linear regression test. The research population consisted of 7568 male and female teachers of public schools in the Governorate of Ad Dakhiliyah in the Sultanate of Oman, distributed over 145 schools, of which 45 are for males with 2332 teachers, and 95 schools for females with 5236 female teachers. The study sample consisted of 384 male and female teachers, including teachers at the schools of the first cycle, the second cycle and post-basic. The researcher applied the spiritual intelligence questionnaire and the teaching motivation for teacher’s questionnaire. The research concluded that the level of teaching motivation for the sample was high, as the average mathematical score achieved 4.15. Also, the level of spiritual intelligence for the study sample was high, as the average mathematical score achieved 4.00. there is a statistically significant positive correlation between the spiritual intelligence and the teaching motivation. There are no differences at the level of teaching motivation for the research sample attributed to the study variables, i.e., (gender. Academic qualification, years of services, specialization and academic stage). On the other hand, However, there are statistically significant differences in spiritual intelligence attributed to the gender variable in favor of males, there are no statistically significant differences in spiritual intelligence attributed to the variables educational qualification, years of service, specialization, and educational stages. Besides, the spiritual intelligence may contribute in predicting the teaching motivation by 39.2% of change in the level of teaching motivation for the research sample of teachers.
