Abstract

This study is an attempt to shed light on one of the most complicated contemporary issues. Indeed the propaganda, which is practised by the absolute and overbearing political leaders will be the focus of this study. The selected models of oppressors are The Pharoah, Namrud, Abu Jahl and others. To address the issue, the study adopted the historical, analytical, and comparative methods. Thus, the researcher studied the role of the overbearing political leaders in deceiving the public in order to stop them from following the messengers of Allah or the reformers. The study analyzes the motives, means, manners, as well as the consequences of deceiving the public. The research concluded that: From a Quranic perspective, to counter attack propaganda or psychological warfare, the public should refrain from accepting or spreading any lies and hearsay. The overbearing political leaders make use of all means of propaganda and psychological warfare to gain public support and to deviate the public from the real issues and concerns. Freedom is the basic element that allows the public to express their minds and to take sides with whatever party they like. Any attempt to deny this very fundamental fact or to impose ideas upon the public should be regarded as a sort of dictatorship which is totally rejected by the Quran.
