Lower Urinary Tract Symptoms (LUTS) is a worldwide problems and it is a highly prevalent, varies by geography and culture. It influences the quality of life and social implication. Objective of this study is to determine the prevalence and associated risk factors of LUTS among the female attending gynecology clinic in our hospital. In addition, we were also assessing the severity of the disease. This is a cross sectional study on women attending gynecology clinic in Hospital Tengku Ampuan Afzan (HTAA) Kuantan using three self-answered validated questionnaires namely UDI-6, IIQ-7 and OAB v8. The prevalence of LUTS is 50.6%. The commonest symptoms are stress urinary incontinence (49%) followed by OAB (31.6%). Obesity, parity and previous pelvic surgery were common associated risk factors for LUTS. At least 23-25% respondent feels that their quality of life slightly affected by the incontinence and other LUTS. LUTS is highly prevalent in our population however it does not really affect patient’s quality of life (QOL). A population base study is needed for better understanding of severity and impact on QOL.
