مقاصد حوار الأديان في ضوء القرآن :دراسة موضوعية

Abstract

This study clarifies the objectives of the dialogue of religions, taking the Qur'an as the main source on the Islamic din, as well as the dialogues mentioned in the Qur'an aimed at the Jewish and Christian religions, in order to show the wisdom of these dialogues, and to benefit from them as a means for peaceful coexistence between non-Muslim members of society and the Ummah. This will eliminate the exaggeration which has led to the splitting up of nations. In this study, the assertive method was applied by compiling the Qur'anic texts and verses that mention the dialogues, followed by the analytical deductive method to discover the wisdom and objectivity of the Qur'an in the dialogues with other revealed religions. The study benefits from previous studies and books on the topic, even if these do not clarify the objectives of the said dialogues. The study also clarifies that having a dialogue is a foundation for the very being of the Ummah and the protection of its founding elements and existence as well as the link between its constituent parts, by explaining its foundations, tools, ethics and objectives, guided by the Qur'an and the topics of dialogue therein, and its themes, style, objectives and deducted wisdom. An aim of this study is to illuminate the way to and create the triggers for a revival of Islam and the Muslim reality. The research concludes with a number of results, among them: The objectives of the Qur'an represent the unchangeable teachings of Islam and its foundations in belief and legislation. The Ummah has to meet these as a way of coming to know each other and creating a peaceful coexistence; and to oppose exaggeration and nationalism in an age when these great objectives are lost; the objectives in which lies the real unity of the Ummah. The dialogue between the followers of religions has in some of its aspects, with a social and psychological intention, the aim to realize the benefits for the individual and society, and consequently humankind. The best way for having dialogue with opponents is the way of the Qur'anic dialogue and its method. It is the Qur'an which calls for the dialogue with opponents and lays down its foundations and method.
