المقبولية في الترجمة الإعلامية بين النظرية والتطبيق: ترجمة الأخبار في الموقع العربي لوكالة الأنباء الماليزية برناما نموذجا

Abstract

Since its inception 2000 years ago, translation acceptability was the subject of a variety of research and conflicts. The solutions given to this problem ranged from the literal to free translation. Thus, this study highlights how translation theories approach the concept of acceptability in light of different concepts, visions and perspectives. It also reflects the translation methods in the context of the wide gap between theory and practice, and to highlight the importance of the equivalence element between the original text and the translated one in achieving the desirable acceptability. The case of study is the translated news published on the Malaysian National News Agency (BERNAMA) Arabic website between 2012 and 2015. This study adopts the descriptive analytic method and using a questionnaire distributed to a sample of professional media translators to evaluate the acceptability of BERNAMA translated news and analyzing data via SPSS, Ver.17. The thesis leads to several crucial conclusions and resolutions. It concludes that translation acceptability is a controversial issue among theoretical translating trends in the continuous attempts to find the most suitable methods of translation that are deemed as acceptable. The researcher recommends that there should be grooming future specialist translators, create training centres in media agencies that translate other languages into Arabic and intensify the coordination between the media organisations and Arab language institutes in order to standardise Arabic terms. Furthermore, the study encourages more specific researches to examine the performance of media translation in renowned news agencies such as BERNAMA and International Islamic News Agency (IINA) to assess and evaluate their translation acceptability and provide them with the necessary guidelines.
