Abstract
This study examines Qur’anic guidance in dealing with the sexual deviancy in Malaysian. This study looks at the phenomenon scientifically as well as providing its treatises extracted from Al-Qur’an al-Karim. By doing so, this study highlights several specific Qurʻanic guidance that can be applied in dealing with three particular sexual deviation problems in Malaysia: rape, incest and homosexuality. This study uses three methods: inductive and analytical approach in assessing part of the Qurʻanic texts that related to what have been mentioned above, namely the story of Prophet Yusuf and the wife of ‘Aziz, the story of the Lut people and some analysis on the rulings mentioned in the Chapter al-Nur, as well as field research on factors behind these sexual deviations among Malaysians in Selangor. This study concludes that the Qurʻanic guidance embodies a perfect education methodology that contains in it as well as the preventive and treatment measures in dealing with social problems. This study also finds that awareness is one of the early measures in treating the social problems, as well as the realization of maqasid (objectives) of marriage and family building, the concept of al-amr bi al-ma’ruf wa al- nahy an al-munkar (promotion of virtue and prevention of vice), prevention of al-fitan, and imposing proper and just sentence to the offenders. In addition to that, this study also suggests that these measurements must be implemented in Selangor by making sure the participation and cooperation from every level of society that must begin from the family institution, Muslim scholars and figures, governmental and non-governmental institutions, in ensuring that sexual deviancy does not reach the stage of acceptable and normal behaviour.
