This research examines the critique of Ibn Hazm of the Torah based on the precept and terminologies of scholars of hadith in criticizing the narrated hadiths. The study has been divided into five chapters. Chapter one contains the research proposal. Chapter two is centred on the biography of Ibn Hazm and the introduction of his book (al-Fasl fi al-Milal wa al-Nihal). Chapter three focuses on Ibn Hazm’s criticism of the Torah texts. Chapter four discusses the chain of narration of the Torah. Chapter five sheds light on the cognitive integration in the critique of Ibn Hazm of the Torah. In this study, the researcher relied on the inductive approach in tracking the types of criticism leveled by Ibn Hazm against the text and chain of narration of the Torah. The researcher also embarked on the analytical approach through the authentication of all the critiques based on the principles, precepts, and terms of scholars of hadith in criticizing the transmissions and the narrated texts. The researcher reached several findings, one of which is that no previous studies on Ibn Hazm’s critique of the Torah pay meticulous attention to link Ibn Hazm's methodology in his criticism with the Islamic criticism method of transmissions on a detailed analysis. The researcher also highlighted the distinct difference between the method of Islamic criticism and Western historical criticism. He also highlighted the aspect of the cognitive integration of Ibn Hazm's criticism of the Torah.
