Publication Challenges in making da'wah to the Muslim youths in Bangladesh : solutions in the light of Qur'anic text and prophetic model(Kuala Lumpur : Kulliyyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia, 2022, 2022) ;Rahman, Tabibur ;Raudlotul Firdaus Fatah Yasin, Ph.DBangladesh has one of the highest population densities globally, and it is estimated at 164 million Muslims in 2020. Among them, 33% are Muslim youth. Many da'wah personalities and organisations have been working to disseminate and actualise the true spirit of Islam among Muslims. However, these da'wah entities are less aware of the youth society's concerns in many ways. This study has attempted to describe the religious climate in Bangladesh in general and the reasons for the less applicability of existing da'wah activities to the youth society. It has been argued that Islam's fundamental principles and teachings remain blurry to the Muslim youth, and they are growing up to develop anti-Islamic notions and perceptions. Therefore, da'is are facing many challenges in making da'wah for the youth. This study adopts a qualitative method; it employed the ethnographic method and scoping review. Besides, the semi-structured interview method conducted with the experts to obtain sufficient information on the subject matter. Moreover, textual analyses will be implemented based on Qur’anic and Sunnatic text to describe more details and offer the solution. Data will be collected through document analysis, including government publications, literature reviews, contemporary reports, and internet sources. The study has explored some fundamental challenges and ended with a set of proposals in light of the Qur'anic text and prophetic model, which may contribute to remedying the predicament facing the da'wah effort in Bangladesh. The research is expected to be a turning point in positively dealing with the related challenges, and upcoming dais will benefit more. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Prophet Muhammad PBUH has taught us to treat the elderly gently and gracefully. In Malaysia, data predicts a gradually increasing number on the population of senior citizen by 2030. Due to that unprecedented situation, many issues and problems within the family institution occurs, primarily when it deals with the efforts to take care of the elderly’s wellness. Commonly, these issues emerged within modern family institution when the family members lack social earning to provide optimum care for the elderly and face the dilemma of prioritizing between their own family and elderly parent to handle the situation. Worse, the services and systems offered and provided by the government seem to be less friendly for senior citizens. Even though the Malaysia government has allocated a specific organization to cater to this problem, such as PAWE programme, re-examining and remodelling process are needed for the betterment of its framework. Considering the importance of better elderly care in Malaysia, this study seeks to identify the existing weaknesses and challenges related to senior citizens, examine relevant hadiths text regarding elderly care from the guidance of Prophet Muhammad PBUH, and address the conceptual framework of elderly care from the endorsement of ḥadith on underlying issues to cater the problems in Malaysia. The study utilises qualitative approach by conducting library research where available information can be accessed and employing critical analysis in examining the available data. The study found out that the problems on the poor elderly care sources from dysfunctional intra-family interaction, which was influenced by three critical aspects, namely, religious, social, and economic factors. All in all, the analysis highlights that the best solution to cater to the said problems came from the fundamental root, which is from the children themselves. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

This breakthrough has changed the way scholars deal with a Quranic text. Likewise, it has proven its validity in bringing about social change with no narrow-mindedness or bigotry to the views and statements of later and former scholars. This new method of social interpretation of the Quran has enable scholars to deduce benefits and exclusive conclusions from the Quranic text as a solution to material as well as spiritual uncertainties of societies. From this standpoint, contemporary scholars aim to find answers to concerns and problems faced by societies. They aim to respond to the suspicions and misgivings raised about the Quran and Shariah. An example of this social interpretation is ‘tafsir al-Misbah’ by Quraysh Shihab. The researcher uses two approaches: inductive and analytical. He uses the inductive approach to read through books of Islamic exegesis and the writings of Quraysh Shihab on social trend in the interpretation of the Quran meant to deal with contemporary issues. He also uses the analytical approach in explaining the concept of Qiwamah (man’s guardianship in a household of a woman) and the impact of social trend in the interpretation of the Quran on understanding the nature of that Qiwamah and all the misgivings that surround it. The research has concluded that: the significance of the social trend in interpretation of the Quran lies in its unique quality in bringing the Quran down to popular understanding as well as in presenting a key solution to recurrent contemporary problems. That Muhammad Quraysh Shihab has drawn on the writings of the proponents of the social trend in interpretation of the Quran in order to reconcile ‘text’ and ‘reality’. That there is no evidence whatsoever for the claim made by the opponents of the Quran that Islam has infringed the rights of women and has stripped her of freedom. Qiwamah is an honor for women—it is rather authority of guardianship not that of subjugation, control or violence. Finally, contemporary social realities and issues have proven, by the testimony of writers and intellectuals including non-Muslims, that whatever brought by Shariah Law is valid—all these have equally shown that the social trend in interpretation of the Quran is valid and that it plays a key role in solving and overcoming social problems. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The researcher presented the verses of the aforementioned Qur’anic chapter with their interpretations from authorized books of Tafsir, and deduced from them educational rules underpinned by proofs from both the Qur’an and Sunnah. The educational rules comprise four aspects which are al-ʽIbadah (worship), al-iman (faith), al-Akhlaq (ethics), and al-Suluk (behavior), and their impacts on individuals, family, and society. Following that are the practical applications in some aspects, shedding light on the contemporary challenges and how they are addressed by the Surah. The research tackled the problem of the study by devising educational rules from the verses of Surat al - Isra to be of help to students of science with different disciplines, as will benefit the specialists in the educational interpretation of the Holy Quran. The inductive approach was employed to draw out some specific scientific instances from authorized books of Tafsir in order to arrive at educational rules. Moreover, the analytical approach was employed to study the specific scientific instances drawn out by deducing a number of important educational rules. The researcher arrived at a number of findings the most important of which are: introduction of a new definition to educational rules, extraction of these rules from the verses due to their invisibility as well as addressing arising contemporary issues while dealing with the extracted rules in the Surah. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The Qur’an explicitly indicates that “men are caretakers of women” (4:34). The concept has been considered contentious by many, particularly considering its remarkable focus on the creation of a male-centric social structure. A number of critiques also believes that the doctrine works as a basis of misogyny within the Qur’anic worldview. There is a void of adequate academic attention on the approach of exegetes of the Qur’an in dealing with the doctrine of al- Qiwamah. With this background, the present research attempts to evaluate the viewpoints of prominent exegetes of the Qur’an on the doctrine of al-Qiwamah as well as to compare the point of views on between classical and contemporary scholars. Accordingly, the researcher has cautiously selected five exegetes from each the classical and modern periods, namely, al-Ṭabari, al-Razi, al-Zamakhshari, al-Qurṭubi and Ibn Khathir from the classical scholars; Rashid Riḍa, Sayyid Qutb, Ibn 'Ashur, Mawdudi and Sha'rawi from the modern Qur’an scholarship. In order to achieve this, the procedure employed is a combination of different research methods, namely, inductive, analytic, comparative and critical. The study suggests that, a gradual development in the meanings of the doctrine of al-Qiwamah is evident within the tafsir collections. Compared to the medieval exegetes, modern mufassirun were more vigilant against the feminist discourses and the accusations of misogyny. However, it is pertinent to note that none of the exegetes, neither classical nor the modern, considered al-Qiwāmah as a tool of male oppression. The study also reveals that according to the entire collections of Qur’anic exegesis, al-Qiwamah represents the construction of a social structure intended at attaining twofolded objectives of the Quranic worldview: to uphold an ideal system of familial institution on the basis of biologically balanced gender roles and to ensure the ultimate result of protection of woman. In examining a highly significant area of Qur’anic studies, the study is expected to be a valuable contribution to the discourse on al-Qiwamah, as well as its remarkable addition to the discussions of gender roles in Islam. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

Each of these terms has a different meaning. The researcher conducted an analysis of the concepts of these three terms in Shihab’s tafseer “al-Misbah”. The research concluded that al-Qira’ah means reading everything and anything that is written in general, be it revelation or otherwise such as reading stories of the Prophets, the Thora, the Bible and other literature. al-Qira’ah in the Qur’an has two types: haqiqiyatun and majaziyatun, and al-haqiqiyatu be foundin several places, Such as: [al-Isra: 106], [al-‘Ankabut: 45], [al-Muzammil: 20], and al-majaziyatu such as: [al-Isra: 14, 78]. al-Tilawah refers to practicing what is contained within the provisions of Islamic law, knowledge and various meanings of verses. The word of al-Tilawah is mentioned in the following verses: [al-Baqarah: 121] [an-Naml: 92], [al-Qashash: 53], and other verses. al-Tartil is a verse that has its own term and conditions (makhraj al-huruf wa ahkamu) which are essential in contemplating its true meaning. al-Tartil is also found in several sūrah such as: [al-Muzammil: 4] and [al-Furqan: 32] which indicates its prominence among verses in the Quran. - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings

The researcher used the inductive and analytical method to extract the views of Imam Sa’id al-Nursi in his interpretation and identify his methodology. The study discovers that there are similarities between Imam Sa’id al-Nursi’s interpretation method with slight differences as compared to other scholars of exegesis (mufassir). Imam Sa’id al-Nursi focused on the methodology of interpretation of al-Ra’yi al-Haqiqy. However, he also explained the verses of the Qur'an by Qur'an, the Qur'an by Sunnah, and also illustrated the meaning by quoting the words of scholars and Arabic poetry. One of the most prominent approaches of Imam Sa’id al-Nursi is he interpreted the verses by tales and providing examples. In this context, the research will aim to highlight the concept of tawhīd through the Sa’id al-Nursi in his book, the Messages of Light (Rasa’il Al-Nur), and to reveal its method in his interpretation of the verses of tawhid, as he has expertise in field of tawhid, therefore, his expertise as a characteristic in his interpretation. The study concludes that Sa’id al-Nursi’s interpret the verses of tawhid by mention others verses and some of hadīst and also explain the verses by arabic poetry, and Sa’id al-Nursi illustrate the meaning by tales and providing examples. Sa’id al-Nursi’s Concept of tawhid does not contradict with the tawhid concept among the Sunni scholars. This study is expected to be a significant addition to the available literature. It provides a comprehensive Quranic solution towards achieving social security in a geographical area that suffers from the lack thereof more than any other Islamic world region. The survival of mankind is based on attaining social security, which is one of the Quran’s most important objectives. The Quranic methodology provides the best rules, foundations, and standards, ensuring security in society. The study discusses social security from both contemporary and Shari’ah perspective. It provides a detailed discussion on the essential elements of social security, such as its moral, practical, and social components. It also provides an overview of Afghanistan’s historical, geographical, and political situation and the extent to which social security prevails in the country. The study is supported by accurate statistics as well as ground realities witnessed in Afghanistan. The study focuses on the most important gaps in Afghan society that threaten to destabilize its social security. Among the gaps are a) family obstacles such as difficulty in building a family, a high percentage of divorce, and deprivation of women from inheritance; b) social obstacles such as extremism in nationalism, tribal loyalties, the negative role played by an undisciplined and largely unregulated media, and the unbridled proliferation of drugs. The study has adopted the inductive and analytical research methods to analyze data collected from the Quran and Sunnah and Afghan society’s characteristics. Quranic verses and Hadith that call for upholding ethical values, solidarity amongst societal members, adoption of legislation sanctions, and other good social standards were used to infer the true Quranic approach that would lead to lasting social security in Afghanistan. Consequently, this study highlights a set of Quranic solutions that can address these obstacles by strengthening societal norms’ religious and ethical aspects. This study found that a) the family institution is a fundamental factor of social security in Afghan society, in terms of its formation and learning, b) upholding the law and the constructive role of authorities are essential in helping to achieve social security, c) the correct treatment of donation (Sadaqah) and Zakah money by rightfully treating it as a divine duty motivates individual members of society in playing their roles towards achieving social solidarity, and d) instigating hope in and awakening the consciences of drug users can act as the most beneficial medicine that would help to eliminate drug use from society, in addition to local and international efforts towards its eradication. It also seeks to clarify Nursi’s distinctive role compared to earlier and contemporary scholars in this field and to uncover his unique methodology based on solid knowledge and intellectual insights in demonstrating the manifestations of Quranic miracles. This is particularly evident in his work Ishārah al-ljāz fi Maẓān al-Ijāz (Signs of Miraculousness in the Context of Conciseness). These features illustrate that Nursi made significant efforts in interpreting the Quran and emphasizing its miraculous aspects to strengthen faith and guide the contemporary Muslim community toward a correct understanding of religion. The researcher employed the inductive method by collecting data from Nursi’s writings, including The Risalē-I Nūr (Letters of Light) and other relevant works. The analytical method was then used to study and logically analyze each aspect of the topic to understand Nursi’s approach to revealing the miraculous elements of the Quran in his interpretation of its chapters. One of the most significant findings of this research is that Nursi approached the subject of Quranic miracles with a modern and distinctive methodology, focusing on the miracle of the Quran’s structure and eloquence, along with other aspects such as scientific and legislative miracles. While building upon the theory of Quranic structure, Nursi presented it effectively by adhering to proper Arabic linguistic rules and sound religious sciences. This highlights the importance of Nursi’s intellectual legacy in the modern era.
