Publication الأحاديث الضعيفة والموضوعة المشهورة لدى المجتمع الإسلامي في كمبوديا: ولاية كمفوغ تشام نموذجا(2026) ;Zulkifli, Fariza ;ذوالكفلي، فاريزا ;Nurul Jannah Zainan Nazri, PhDAli, Ahmed El-Mogtaba Bannga Ahmed, PhDThis study aims to examine the widespread phenomenon of weak and fabricated ḥadīths among the Muslim community in Cambodia, particularly in Kampung Cham province. It also seeks to identify their effects and propose ways of prevention. In conducting this research, the researcher relied on a set of scientific methodologies appropriate to the nature of the subject and the objectives of the study, including the field method through interviews. The researcher conducted direct meetings with the Mufti of Cambodia and various Muslim communities from different social groups to closely diagnose the problem. By employing the inductive method, the researcher traced the ḥadīths popular among the Muslim community in Cambodia and gathered information on the subject from various sources, including classical and contemporary ḥadīth works, scholarly research, articles, and other relevant materials. The critical method was then used to examine these narrations by assessing their chains of transmission and texts, and by presenting scholarly judgments on their authenticity. The researcher also used the analytical method to analyse the data collected from the field study and to extract principles and strategies to limit their spread. The study concluded with several important findings, the most significant of which are: the prevalence of weak and fabricated ḥadīths, especially in matters related to virtues of deeds and social customs; the reliance of some preachers and teachers on them without proper scrutiny; the persistence of certain elderly individuals in practicing rituals based on unsound narrations; which had a negative impact on faith, worship and community structures. The study recommended intensifying awareness regarding the authentic sources of Sunnah, strengthening the role of religious institutions and purifying cultural traditions of weak and fabricated ḥadīths to protect Muslims’ faith and religious practices. The study concluded with a set of recommendations to enhance Cambodia society’s awareness regarding the dangers of weak and fabricated ḥadīths and ways to prevent them.1 12
