Publication تطوير الوسائط المتعددة في تعليم مفردات اللغة العربية وتعلمها : برنامج ”موودل“ نموذجا(Kuala Lumpur :Kulliyah of Islamic Revealed Knowledge and Human Sciences, International Islamic University Malaysia, 2014, 2014) ;نورحميمي زين الدين ;Nurkhamimi bin Zainuddin ;This study presents the example of design, implementation, and evaluation procedures for developing multimedia for teaching Arabic vocabulary for non-Arabic students at the beginner’s level by using one of the applications available on the Internet namely, Moodle. The researcher used the Moodle as a platform for multimedia development that compromise different types of multimedia e.g. pictures, audio, video, and animations. This study employs an analysis, experimental and evaluation method in conducting its research procedures. The theoretical foundation of the study was profoundly based on the theory of social constructivism proposed by Vygotsky (1978), theory of second language acquisition by Krashen (1984), theory of multimedia learning by Mayer (2001) and ADDIE instructional model by Dick & Carey (1990). 8 subjects matter experts, 2 Arabic Language lecturers and 140 level-one students from the Center for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia had participated in the study which was carried out during the semester one and two of 2012/2013 academic year. The researcher also discussed in details the steps of operating the needs analysis and tools for evaluating the success of the program. The outcome of the students’ motivations analysis proposed the use multimedia program as a tool is for enhancing their Arabic vocabulary as they are found to be highly motivated and engaged in the learning process which in turn contributes positively to their learning attainment. The results of the vocabulary tests also show the success of multimedia program in the process of teaching and learning Arab vocabulary, since most of the students obtained good results in their pre and post-tests conducted throughout the study. The study concludes that multimedia program can be used by all non-Arabic students regardless of their categories; new intake students or repeaters.3 - Some of the metrics are blocked by yourconsent settings
Publication تعليم مهارة الكتابة وتعلمها للطلبة غير المتخصصين في اللغة العربية عبر شبكة الإنترنت برنامج ويكي نموذجا : دراسة تجريبية تقويمية(Kuala Lumpur : Kulliyyah Ma'arif al-Wahy wa-al-'Ulum al-Insaniyah, al-Jami'ah al-Islamiyah al-'Alamiyah Maliziya, 2009, 2009) ;نورحميمي بن زين الدين ;Nurkhamimi bin Zainuddin ;Summary: The study analyses steps in facilitating the acquisition of writing skills among non-Arabic students at university level using one of the services available on the Internet namely, Wiki because the non-Arabic students are experiencing many difficulties in order to master these skills. This study employs an experimental and evaluation method in conducting its research procedures. The theoretical foundation of the study was profoundly based on the theory of social constructivism proposed by Vygotsky (1978). The researcher examined ways of learning Arabic writing skills using the Wiki service among the students, their learning strategies, and motivations. Twenty five second-level students from the Department of Laws, Center for Foundation Studies, International Islamic University Malaysia participated in the study which was carried out during the semester two of 2008/2009 academic year. The students are all Malays. The researcher also discussed in details the steps of operating the Wiki service, and tools for evaluating the success of the program. The researcher found that the Wiki helps in facilitating the acquisition of writing skills among the non-Arabic students particularly in assisting them developing their ideas during initial phase of acquiring the skills. The results also indicated that the Wiki service is a successful program in the processes of teaching and learning Arabic writing skills, since most of the students obtained good results in their Arabic writing tests conducted throughout the study. They also suggested that the students in this study employed cognitive strategies more in their process of acquiring the language. The outcome of the students’ motivations analysis proposed the use of Wiki as a tool for enhancing their writing skills as they are found to be highly motivated and engaged in the learning process which in turn contributes positively to their learning attainment.11 2
