The purpose of this study is to explore the educational leaders’ perception on the practices of Organizational Citizenship Behaviour (OCB) in two different Primary National-type Schools (SRJKC) in Penang. Further, this study attempts to explore the practices of OCB and its dimension such as the factors influencing the practice of OCB, strategies as well as the problems and challenges faced by the educational leaders in promoting OCB in their school. This study employed a semi-structured interview in collecting data which focuses on the school leaders from two different Primary National-type Schools (SRJKC) in Penang with a sample size of six head of subject teachers. The findings revealed that the participants had positive views on the practice of OCB whereby they acknowledge the importance of OCB in improving their profession as educational leaders. It was also found that the most prominent components of OCB being practiced by the participants in both schools were altruistic, courteous and conscientiousness. Besides that, it was also found that personal satisfaction, working climate and leadership were among the factors that motivated the participants to exhibit OCB. Moreover, the data also identified several problems and challenges faced by the participants including time constraint, job stress, and awareness. Last but not least, the study found a strategy to enhance and facilitate the practice of OCB among the teachers which is to become a transformational leader. Finally, the study concludes by proposing several recommendations for future research.
