Availability study is a system analysis of how the library acquisition and circulation performed in developing collection and giving borrowing service. This study was done at Universiti Teknologi MARA Kota Bharu academic library to investigate the probability of book availability and examine its shortcomings. The users’ shadow of how they find library books on the shelf are virtually followed and their obstacles were able to be identified with the benefit of availability study. Recommendations are suggested to overcome those problems and to increase the chances of book availability in the library
