    The study aims to present the concept of irony (mufaraqah) in both ancient and contemporary Arabic heritage, and to explain its origin, development, elements, function, and rhetoric elements. The study through these elements, also confirms the relationship between mufaraqah and eloquence balagah, as it is highlighted in the part of the prophet’s sayings Ahadith related to signs of the last hour or the Day of Judgement Ashrat Al Sa‘ah. This study analyses the meaning, and context, and also looks at several types of irony such as, verbal, illustration, conception or imagination, and action. The study adopts a descriptive and analytical approach, aims to explain the relationship between mufaraqah and rhetorical studies balagah, explain the relationship between irony and Arab heritage, and look at the connection between irony and linguistic meaning. The study concludes that, in the Arabic language, mufaraqah is one of the rhetorical techniques that have dual meaning, which includes other figurative techniques, such as comparison, metaphor, and metonymy. These points to something without proclamation and, other techniques that help to convey meaning to the reader or receiver, such as antinomy and antithesis. The study also confirms the relationship between irony and linguistic meaning, and focuses on the context and its analysis to explain the hadith, and its legal objectives Maqasid to the readers. The study ends by highlighting the role of irony, and uncovering the meaning in the prophetic discourse through its analysis of social life, the universe and human phenomena.
