This research aims to discuss Artistic Imagery (AI) in the Holy Quran, where it conducts an analytical and applied study of Sayyid Qutb’s method in interpreting Quranic verses (ayah) in the first five chapters (juzu’). This research considers seriously muslims’s problems today in interpreting the Quranic verses, and understanding its meaning and hidden signs and how to arrive at a better way to understand and taste its supreme style that surpasses the ability of the human race. We have found these in the translations of the Quran in different languages, such as Indonesian. Therefore, the usage of Sayyid Qutb’s method (AI), with the three eminent elements: Sensory Imagination (SI), Artistic Embodiment (AE) and Artistic Harmony (AH), are recognized as accurate and appropriate steps to disclose its the beauty, the glory and the miracle of the Holy Quran, that emanates from its style and meaning, and from the various artistic images. This research is present to solve a problem which is suffered by non-Arabic speakers. The thesis uses the qualitative approach and applied analytic method to obtain clear information and reliable results. The research has extracted 162 images from these first five parts, 42 images for SI, 53 images for AE and 67 images for AH. Some important conclusions note that the AI is an unique means, effectual and inspirational, to interact with the Holy Quran. The combination of the SI and the AE in the single example of the Quran, has given a significance and wide indication, with the assumption that the movement is an important basis and element in the creation of a sensible and artistic image. Meanwhile, the AH has reached the peak of illustration, where the coordination of the musical rhythm and interpretative atmosphere are prominent horizons and scattered patterns in the Quranic expressions in the first five parts of Holy Quran.
