This study aims to find out the level of listening skill among the first grade students of senior high school in Darularafah Raya Islamic Boarding School in Indonesia after the process of teaching listening skill by using Arabic Cartoon Video Series “Marvellous Stories from Qur’an” entitled “Sleeping in the Cave” from YouTube and explore the students’ and Arabic language teachers’ opinions about the suitability of using this video in this teaching process in aspects of video content and art direction of video. The researcher conducted the listening test for thirty students and the interview for six students and four teachers to collect the data and used the descriptive analytical method to analyze the data from the test quantitatively and the data from the interview qualitatively with the assistance of Atlas.ti software. This research found that the level of listening skill among the students is low, and the students’ and teachers’ opinions showed that using this video in this teaching process is suitable in terms of the clarity of story plot in video, the clarity and attractiveness of video images, and the duration of video but it is unsuitable in terms of the vocabulary and sentences used in video and the clarity and speed of video sound, nevertheless the students enjoyed this teaching process. Thus, the researcher suggested slowing down the speed of the video and presenting the meanings of difficult vocabulary used in the video before playing it for teaching listening skill to the students. In addition, the researcher saw that using this video in teaching listening skill might be suitable for students at a higher level than these students.
