This research aims to focus on the discussion between the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the polytheists as depicted in Surat Al-An’am. The researcher used an inductive approach by collecting information from both classical and contemporary sources related to this subject. The analytical method was also used to analyze the content related to the subject from various sources and references. This study highlights the discussion between the Prophet (peace be upon him) and the polytheists in this Surah. This discussion views the belief and legislation aspects as well as acts of worship. These aspects have a significant effect in preparing the Dai’yah morally, enhancing his belief and educating him in Fiqh so he can become a strong and smart conversationalist which is one of the highest objectives of Islamic Da’wah. This discussion also focuses on the methods that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used in his discussion with the polytheists. These methods were divided into verbal and practical methods. The verbal methods include the speaking ways that are used by the Dai’yah in his Da’wah which include wisdom, good advice, invitation and intimidation, stories, teaching and stating. Whereas the practical method means the way of Da’wah by acts and behaviours including viewing and meditating upon the signs in the universe, disputes, gradation and intellectual argumentation to prove monotheism. Furthermore, this research views various properties and characteristics like intellectual, spiritual, and behavioural that every Muslim Dai’yah shoul have.

This research presents a scientific presentation on the methodology of Quran in the dialogue with Ahl Al-Kitab in Surah al-Baqarah and Surah Ali ‘Imran, and compare them to the modern dialogues amongst scholars. This study also highlights the analysis of the verses of the Quran and their relation to the topic by relying on different sources, explaining the dialogues between the Prophet Muhammad and Ahl Al-Kitab and his methods of da’wah. Additionally, this thesis discusses different aspects of da’wah mentioned in them. Furthermore, it highlights the prophet’s (peace be upon him) methods of da’wah and discussion, using charisma and different techniques of persuasion such as wisdom, strong arguments, invitation and intimidation, providing examples, and using intellectual arguments to disprove their views. This research also unveils the reality of their disobedience to their prophets, and proves that what they preach does not have any solid proof or evidence. This research analyses the use of their scripture to gain the upper hand in these debates and delegitimize their preachings in an attempt to show the differences between the Prophet’s dialogue with Ahl Al-Kitab and the debates of Ahmad Deedat with Ahl Al-Kitab. The researcher used the inductive and analytical approaches to collect information from both classical and contemporary sources related to this study, as well as the Quranic verses that mentioned about the dialogue between the Prophet and Ahl Al-Kitab and his methods of da’wah in that both Surah al-Baqarah and Ali ‘Imran. This study has shown important results, such as: both surah al-Baqarah and Ali ‘Imran are rich in dialogues with Ahl Al-Kitab because it includes the use wisdom, good advice, apprenticeship, excitement and intimidation, stories methods and others. The research also shown that Ahmad Deedat represents a successful model in his contemporary dialogues with the scholars of Ahl Al-Kitab, and the researcher has proved that Ahmad Deedat benefited use the confrance, debat , and publication.
