    This research aims at building a proposed program to develop comprehension of texts in light of textual linguistics with the learners of Arabic as a second language. In order to achieve that, the researcher first browsed the theoretical concept of comprehension from the perspective of several old and modern schools of linguistics and education, then he proceeded to analyze a set of essential linguistic concepts to extract from them those which deal with comprehension from linguistic viewpoint. After selecting a set of linguistic concepts that might be of benefit in the comprehension processes, they were re worded in a form of instructional criteria that formed templates on which a comprehensive program of ten lessons was built upon. This program aims at developing the comprehension of Arabic texts with Arabic learners as a second language. The results of this study showed that the theory of textual linguistics contain a rich material of concepts and visions that could be utilized in reading sessions that are designed to develop the comprehension of Arabic texts. The researcher has built a proposed program of those theories in order to develop the comprehension of Arabic text in its variety for Arabic learners as a second language. Teacher’s guide has been also prepared.
