Internet of Things is one of the disruptive paradigms that will change the point of view of the whole world. Even though there are various challenges that are facing this paradigm it is, however, rapidly growing to reach its ultimate goal. Especially, with the emergence of Machine-to-Machine communication, which has empowered objects to communicate, collaborate, and take certain decisions without human intervention. This study presents an easy-to-use GUI interactive software capable of monitoring, configuring, and controlling Wireless sensor network nodes. Furthermore, this study investigates the performance and capabilities of the (HC-12) wireless transceiver which operates at (433 MHz) frequency as a one of common wireless modules on the market. This investigation aims to monitor the behaviour of both throughput and data loss of the transceiver during the wireless transmission sessions. Various wireless transmissions in outdoor scenarios were performed with different transmission bandwidths over different distances to transmit different data sizes. Accordingly, the experiments have shown that, although there are extra features and processing complexity in the designed software, it, however doesn’t affect the performance of the wireless transmissions. Also, the experiments have shown that the antenna height and the distance between transmitter and receiver have the most effective impact on the transmission success. Furthermore, the high rate bandwidths have shown a negative effect on the data integrity and total dysfunctionality over more than 50 meters. Thus, it is recommended to never transmit data more than 8 KB (at both 57600 bps and 115200 bps). For larger data sizes it is recommended to use lesser bandwidths (19200 bps or 38600 bps). However, for any transmission over more than 80 meters the most stable bandwidth that keeps the data integrity is (9600 bps).en_US
