The WFIS can be proposed to replace the existing gruelling manual recording schemes currently used for aircraft logistics in the Royal Malaysian Air Force's operation centre and airbases. During the early stage of the project, after contemplating the extend of the works, evolutionary prototyping was chosen as the software engineering process model. Through this evolutionary prototyping approach, requirements, design and implementation were refined over the course cycles or iterations, rather than fully defined with major up-front specifications. During the requirements engineering stage, modelling analysis was carried out to understand the requirements by the users through functional modelling, structural modelling and behavioural modelling. Entity-relationship diagram for data design was also developed. After that, during the design engineering stage, architectural design, component-level design and user interface design were performed. For data design, the carefully developed E-R diagram was translated to a high quality database schema. The next stage, the implementation, had resulted with a dynamic and interlinkable WFIS prototype that can be effectively used in planning, controlling, monitoring and updating the aircraft logistics. The prototype, fully implemented using a set of open source software, is able to simultaneously process data from multiple airbases at the same time. The developed prototype is the solution that offers a more effective, easier and more controllable aircraft logistics system. The quality of the prototype was also measured based on the quality requirements tree drawn; found to be within the acceptable limit. However, before the deployment, this prototype is still need to be further improved by integrating a high level of software security.enCopyright International Islamic University MalaysiaAeronautics -- Information servicesInformation resources managementWeb-based flight information systemMaster Thesishttps://lib.iium.edu.my/mom/services/mom/document/getFile/73mLRVArXKSManOPmOdrsWjBGYJq28ZK20090626115600500
