Abstract
This research allegorically examines and analyzes al-Mutashabah al-Lafzzi (i.e. the verses that look similar but have a few differences in structure) through the chronicles and narratives of the Quran. Chapter one deals with the theoretical framework dealing with the definition of the terms and concepts of the research. In addition, it contains the key writings pertaining to the science of the miracle of the Quran, the science of al-Mutashabah al- Lafzzi, and the science of the chronicles of the Quran with special focus on the features of the allegorical miracle of the Quran. Chapter two is concerned with the verses that are equivocal in the chronicles of the Quran by highlighting their rhetorical and metaphorical implications. The significance of this research lies in attempting to display the allegorical miracle of the Quran through its chronicles that contain equivocal verses. This research uses a mix of approaches and methodologies. It uses an inductive approach for the collection of the equivocal verses and their interpretations understood by scholars of exegesis about these verses that are mentioned in the chronicles of the Quran. Equally, it uses a comparative approach to draw a comparison between the verses themselves and their interpretations by incorporating an analytical method into it; in order to extrapolate the key allegorical implications embedded in those verses. This research concludes: that the Quranic linguistic style in narrating stories is of the highest quality in terms of rhetoric and eloquence; that is to say, a letter in its verses is unique and inimitable since no other letter can replace it in the cohesion of the word; as is the word with the sentence, the sentence in regards the verse and the verse in the chapter. The chronicles of the Quran also reveals that the verses comprise of a myriad of rhetorical treasures taking into account the context, and the diversity in the usage of allegorical styles. They also take into account the instances of delaying or advancing a part of speech, the instances of nominal and verbal sentences, the instances of apparent and omitted words, the instances of definite and indefinite, feminine and masculine, singular and plural nouns. Finally, the study ended with some recommendations.
