Abstract
This study attempts to shed light on offspring or progeny (An-Nasl) as a foundation of the five fundamentals in Islamic law (Al- KulliyyÉt Al-Khams) through the Holy Qur’Én, as well as through the resolutions approved by the International Conference on Population and Development (ICPD) held in Cairo, Egypt from 5-13 September 1994, and the resolutions approved by the Fourth World Conference on Women, held in Beijing, China; from 4-15 September 1995.The study mainly deals with the position and significance of offspring in the Holy Qur’Én as a vital element for survival of human being, and then touches on the means used by the Holy Qur’Én to maintain the offspring. The study also examines and analyse the resolutions of these two conferences on offspring, in the light of the Holy Qur’Én. The study also highlights on the issues of women, marriage and family in the Holy Qur’Én and both conferences due to their vital role for the suvival of human offspring.
