Abstract
The aim of the study was to add a new scientific research belongs to the field of modern literary criticism, to point out the character construction of the Jordanian short story through the discussion of the technical personal elements in Samiha Khuris collections by taking in consideration the order of tracking the evolution of the short story in Jordan as a mean to support the literary situation occupied by the storyteller Samiha Khuris, through its contributions to the advancement of contemporary short story. And then to recognize the most prominent narrative technique used by the storyteller Samiha Khuris that helped to function her creative character through drawing its features as models to express reality of Jordan in an elaborated and artistic way with taking in consideration the discussion and the analysis of personality, through applied study seeks to extract some desired results, and adding to the field of modern literary studies by finding a way to explore other creditable topics be worthy to study and analysis. The collections of short stories of the three-mapped (with the Land, and Orchestra, and Domino) of the storyteller Samiha Khuris have undergone through three approaches of research represented by the descriptive, the analytical, and the applied approach in order to achieve the main objectives desired from this study. The researcher reached some valued conclusions correspond to the Jordanian short story that the real features began to form in the 1970s and 1980s at the time of resorting the writer into the experimentation writing and the use of the symbol to express their ideas through the use of the storytelling techniques and its components. The status of the storyteller at the Arab level in general and Jordan level in particular is highlighted through presenting her philosophy about the life issues in a more emboldened way in challenging what is reality of injustice and robbed of human rights across the characters of her technical stories that she counterbalanced the real human figure. The storyteller contribution in the evolution of the Jordanian short story appear through her recreated products of fiction and short story by trying to create a new reality subjected to the principles and values within vision direction of many issues of life lived. Finally, the study is distinct in bridging the gap results of the previous studies of the technical character by combining all the circles used with adding additional rings to complete the shortage of the undergoing themes that contribute to the knowledge of character of all its fractions, no matter how they are small. The study recommended the need to establish research projects that take care of tracking the history of the Jordanian short story since the local folk tales have appeared up to the present. Also, a research project to study the social and political issues in Samiha Khuris collections and state their relationship with the Jordanian reality, with attempts to link the psychological dimensions of these issues through highlighting the most important direct and indirect effects transmit to them. The study also recommended the demand to adopt another individual studies concerning the symbolism of woman, through the analysis of different models that come with the picture of woman as being a wife, daughter, sister, and mother, as well as widowed working woman to try to explore the relationship and the similarity between the models of women's fiction in the creative fiction and what is actually in the real world, focusing on what ails women from the oppression of patriarchal society, and the injustice of social stratification as well as tracking the stages of woman liberty and establish herself as an actor that has an impact in the Arab community. Finally; the study recommends an allocation of in-depth study highlights the main ideas that came out from Samiha Khuris in her collections, and try to be discussed within the contexts of philosophical, social, psychological, and religious, to draw the validity of those ideas, and the extent of compliance - if applied - on the ground.
