Prophet method of da'wa in Surat Houd : an applied study depending on El-Sha'arawy interpretation as an examplar

Abstract

This study aims to support the preachers and Imams by contributing towards the correction of understanding of the methods of the Da'wah ( call to Allah) by highlighting the critical importance and derive from the methods adopted by the prophets mentioned in surah Hud, in the Holy Qur'an. Since this surah dealt with a remarkable number of stories of prophets' Da'wah of their peoples in the Noble Qur'an, this (remarkable number of stories) helped the researcher to devise many of such methods used by the prophets of Allah in calling their peoples to Allah, in different intellectual, social, and cultural diversity, with the indication of the role of such Da'wah methods in the personal, social, economic and cultural building and even in the field of the case itself - Da'wah. The researcher found that among these methods, what was common to all prophets whose stories were mentioned in the Surah, including methods that were unique or exclusive to some other prophets of Allah. Then the researcher discussed the extent of the possibility of benefiting from the application of these da'wah methods of the prophets of Allah in the surah, in our lives and our contemporary societies. He found some of them compatible with the reality of our contemporary life, and some inappropriate to be applied in our contemporary life. The researcher has clarified the criteria for adopting the methods mentioned in the surah as a means that can be taken up or employed for the sake of calling to Allah. The researcher also singled out a separate chapter explaining the benefits that can be derived from the application of the Da'wah methods mentioned in the surah, in terms of its educational results in the field of Da'wah and both personal and spiritual aspects as well. Finally, the researcher concluded his study by recommending the importance of the Da'wah, and that it is the reason for distinguishing the Mohammedian nation with superiority from other nations. Also, this study explained how the preacher qualifies himself through a balance between the spiritual effort and the practical effort of the Da'wah, with the necessity of adopting the prophetic Da'wah methods mentioned in surah bud, with its different types, and according to what is appropriate for the preacher/Imam in his Da'wah field. In addition to the need to focus on making use of modem methods and techniques in the Da'wah field, but according to the legitimate standards of these methods.
